What We Believe

God, three in one.

We believe in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. One God in 3 distinct persons, Eternal, and perfect in truth, love, and judgment. They co-exist in perfect unity, co-equal and co-eternal.

The Bible is the word of god.

We believe that the Bible is living and active and useful for everyday life and that it is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. The Holy Spirit inspired the writers of the Old and New Testaments pointing to Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. The word of God is perfect and applicable and the standard of truth as given by God to man.

Jesus is god and the only way to the father.

We believe that Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, was sent out of God's great love for humanity to redeem all people. Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life on this earth, performed many undeniable miracles, was crucified for our sins, buried and was raised from the dead for our justification. By the name of Jesus Christ, and His name only, can people be saved. He sits at the Right Hand of the Father and will return personally in power and glory to receive His Church unto Himself. In order to be “born again” a person must repent of their sins, and submit their lives to Jesus as their King.

Holy Spirit is god, and lives within believers.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God's presence with us. He brings conviction of sin, revelation of the truth of the Gospel of Christ, draws the lost to God, adopts mankind into the Body of Christ through regeneration, and distributes and administrates the Gifts and Fruit of the Holy Spirit in the believer’s life.

all have sinned, and are in need of a savior.

We believe that sin is behavior that falls short of God’s way of doing things, or His will. Adam and Eve chose disconnection from God, which brought spiritual death into humanity. All people are born from Adam and inherit a sinful nature. Before Jesus, God gave humanity laws to help them understand right from wrong, but in their sinfulness they were unable to follow the law perfectly. God knew that we could not bridge the gap that sin created, so He sent Jesus to become the bridge for us. It’s only through the righteousness of Jesus that we have the ability to be in the presence of God. God's heart is that no one should choose to perish, but that all would be restored to relationship with him.

Water Baptism shows your allegiance to christ.

We believe that water baptism follows the confession of faith in Jesus Christ and represents a tangible act of faith that transforms those that genuinely repent and believe in Jesus. New believers are instructed in the Bible to be baptized in water in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The act of baptism is symbolic of identifying with the death and resurrection of Jesus. We leave behind our old life in the water and are raised out of the water born again to a new life. Baptism is not necessary for salvation, but is an act of faith with tangible power and evidence as we follow Jesus and enter into his family.

Baptism of the holy spirit.

We believe that baptism of the Holy Spirit is for the present day church as written in the book of Acts. When we are baptized in the Holy Spirit we receive power and ability to fulfill the purpose that God has placed on our lives.

believers are saints, not sinners.

We believe that the identity of the believer changes from being one identified as a “sinner” to a “saint”. We receive a new nature through Jesus Christ and are no longer slaves to sin. We have been set free from the laws of sin and death. This doesn’t mean that we are instantly perfect, rather that there is no behavior or stronghold in our life that can withstand the authority of Jesus. The devil is now a trespasser in our lives and has no authority to remain.

salvation is for now.

We believe that salvation encompasses much more than eternal life. When we accept Jesus we are given access to a better life here on Earth. This means healing and freedom from bondage.

We all will spend eternity somewhere.

We believe that our response to Jesus and his finished work both determines our future on this earth, and whether we spend eternity in Heaven or Hell.

When we take communion, we remember the work of christ, past, present and future.

We believe that communion is a time for all believers to receive communion elements (typically juice and bread) together. This is representative of the Body and Blood of Jesus, and taken in remembrance of His sacrifice on the Cross, establishing a new covenant for us. In addition to remembering, we eat this meal as a community in anticipation of the wedding banquet we will share with our Lord in heaven.

spiritual gifts build the church.

We believe that spiritual gifts are given to build and sanctify the church, demonstrate the validity of the resurrection, and confirm the power of the Gospel. The biblical lists of these gifts are not necessarily exhaustive, and the gifts may occur in various combinations. All believers are commanded to earnestly desire the manifestation of the gifts in their lives. These gifts always operate in harmony with the Scriptures and should never be used in violation of biblical parameters.

the devil and Evil spirits are real, but jesus is more powerful.

We believe that the spiritual realm is real and we overcome Satan with the power of God. Believers in Jesus Christ are given the authority to displace all the works of darkness with the Kingdom or the authority of Christ.
